September 26th Brother/Sister House Kickball Tournament
September 26th Brother/Sister House Kickball Tournament
Graceland Intramurals was once again graced with amazing weather for our weekend event. It was sunny and in the 70s. We used our brand new bases that Alan bought for us last year; they are really sweet!
Participation:
There was one team from each brother/sister house paring.
Standings:
1st place: Orion/Hanthorne/Solah
2nd place: Agape/Aponivi
3rd place: Closson/Shalom
Open Gym Tapeball Tournament
COSA and Intramurals teamed up again for some Bro/Sis Tapeball during Open Gym. We had a single elimination tournament because we didn’t want to monopolize everyone’s Open Gym time. Everyone had a great time.
Participation:
There was one team from each brother/sister house paring.
Standings:
Unfortunately, the standings were lost in the sands of time!
October 3rd Ultimate Ghandi Memorial Tournament
We celebrated Mahatma’s B-day with an Ultimate Frisbee tournament. We gave our prizes for the best team name, memory of Ghandi, and form of protest. Sadly, Intramural’s wonderful weekend weather streak was broken here, as the high for the day was around 45 degrees!
Participation:
Three teams played: Frisbees for Freedom, Trolls of Destruction, and The Tubthumpers
Standings:
1st place: The Tubthumpers
2nd place: Trolls of Destruction
3rd place: Frisbees for Freedom
Best form of protest: “Streaking” (Frisbees for Freedom)
Best team name: Trolls of Destruction
October 5th-15th Flag Football Tournament
Our Flag Football tournaments went quite well. The first weekend was quite eventful (too eventful some would say) as 911 was called twice for injuries on the women’s football field. On Monday, Franzet Hernandez suffered a 3rd degree concussion when she collided eye-socket-to-face with a fellow Leilani team member while they were going for a tackle. She is fully recovered now. Then on Wednesday Haley Webb suffered a severe ankle sprain while trying to make a tackle against Sariah. Needless to say, the IM staff had no problem canceling games when it rained on Thursday and the fields were extra slick.
Participation:
All teams participated in the double elimination tournament
Standings:
Men’s A-League
1st place: Agape/Stewart Manor
2nd place: Agape/Faunce
3rd place: Closson
Men’s B-League
1st place: Cheville 2
2nd place: Stewart Manor
3rd place: Cheville 1
Women’s League:
1st place: Aponivi
2nd place: Solah
3rd place: Shalom
Sportsmanship: Orion/Faunce B and Aponivi
Participation: Cheville and Sariah
Brother/Sister House Jack and Jill Soccer Tournament
As in past years, we had a week long Jack and Jill Soccer tournament. Instead of the typical double elimination tournament we played a round robin tournament, meaning every team plays every other team once. That way everybody played six games of soccer, barring rain-outs, which unfortunately we had two of.
Participation:
Everyone Bro/Sis pairing had a team.
Standings:
1st place: Aaron/Khiyah and Stewart Manor/Amici tied
3rd place: Faunce/Sariah
Guys Volleyball/Girls Basketball Season
V/B-Ball season is just under way! Games have been going fantastically so far, and everyone is having a great time!
